The 2023 version of the Global BirdFair , one of the most important world fairs in terms of tourism with an emphasis on bird watching, will be held from Friday 14 to Sunday 16 July in Oakham (United Kingdom) .
For Colombia, Manakin Nature Tours, Nature Colombia and Jaguarundi Travel will also participate, three companies with significant experience located in Bogotá.
The national presence will be through the Procolombia stand, in which four companies linked to the sector will be grouped: one of them is  Aweima, created at the University of Ibagué  with the aim of highlighting the fauna and flora of the region.

There, with the direct participation of the biologist and photographer  David Alfonso Bejarano ‘Truman’ , a strategic ally of this business unit with Truman Adventure, not only the four routes created for the most demanding observers will be shown, but also the impact that this brand represents from the social and academic.

“It represents a milestone and a very significant advance to participate in this scenario, where  the biggest players in the market will be, both buyers and the entire value chain of  sighting tourism in the world”, explained Guillermo Alberto González, director of  Extension  of Unibagué.
An exhibition with a ‘Country brand’

Around  10,000 people, including birders and agency representatives , are expected to attend the fair. It is a quite relevant figure for the Aweima team if one takes into account that Colombia is disclosed in the exhibition through its Country Brand.

For this reason, as  Juan José Cabrera, director of Aweima , commented, those who stop at the Procolombia module will learn about both the portfolio and the impact on environmental education with actions such as the Guide School, in which Environmental Biology students have been trained  .  to guide the routes.
“This world scenario will allow us to show how  Aweima generates an impact not only commercially but also socially and educationally , because it connects business with the University’s raison d’être,” he added.
